This camp was set up by old east Africa hand Gillie Zanacchi and his wife Tessa (above) as a retreat where he could take his friends
to enjoy the animals and the bush. It soon became obvious that he would have to share!
The camp is set in Borassus palms and Tamarind trees and provides superb comfort, wonderful wildife and dining under the stars beside the rippling Rufiji river.

Description and Location

You will be welcomed at the camp when you arrive. When you arrive, the camp managers will talk to you about what you would like to do and see.
They will arrange game and boat safaris to suit your wishes. Flexibility is the key here.

There is a large and comfortable thatched low-slung building with wide verandahs where there is
a relaxed open plan area with a well stocked bar, dining room and plenty of planters' chairs and sofas
so that you can scan the river and banks for game, drink in hand

We love to bring you freshly prepared food and even to set up special bush dinners on request.

Evening Sundowners in the comfy bar, and dinner under the stars creates an atmosphere of bygone days of African Exploratoin.

Nearby is a sheltered, crystal clear blue swimming pool which overlooks the Rufiji.
Just the thing after returning from a game drive in the heat of the day,

There is a raised fireplace area near the bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy a sundowner in the evening.

You will be escorted to your tent by maasai askaris. There you can make yourself comfortable
and perhaps view animals and birds from the veranda.
